How much does it cost to rent a field?

Is there “drop-in” or “free play” at the Houston Sports Park?

No. Anyone wishing to use fields at the Houston Sports Park must submit a field reservation application and submit payment in advance of their field rental to acquire a permit.

Can I warm up on an adjacent field if the field I am scheduled on is currently taken at HSP?

No, all field use must be permitted and paid for in advanced. To ensure that fields are of the highest quality, restrictions have been implemented on the amount of weekly use.

What is the earliest/latest time that I could reserve a field?

Typically 8am/11pm. Under special circumstances we can arrange for other times.

How will I know if my reservation has been approved or denied?

You will receive an e-mail from HSP informing you the details of your reservation and the next steps to take.

When is my payment due for my reservation?

Full payment is required before your reservation will be made official if it is a one-time rental. If your practice is seasonal, a 25% non-refundable deposit is due before your first reservation. More information regarding this is found under the pricing section of the Field Reservations tab.

Can I request additional equipment for my reservation?

Yes, when you fill out your request there will be a section where you can select from a variety of additional items.

Am I allowed to cancel my reservation and receive a refund?

HSP operates on a no refund basis. If you cancel a session you are not entitled to a refund or reschedule.

Are the field assignments in the event calendar final?

Reservations are subject to change according to field maintenance or other circumstances. Please check the schedule online the day of your scheduled reservation.

Am I able to reserve more than one field at one time?

Yes, you may reserve as many fields as you need, however, field availability is subject to weather, field maintenance and conditions, and current bookings.

May I request specific field setups, dimensions, or equipment?

All requests may be made while completing your rental online. HSP staff will attempt to meet all requests where possible though some may require an additional fee.

General Park Questions

Are animals allowed at the Houston Sports Park?

No. Only trained service animals are permitted within the fence of HSP. All other dogs may remain in the parking lot or outside the perimeter fencing.

Is there shelter in the event of inclement weather at the Houston Sports Park?

In the event of inclement weather, teams and spectators will be advised to take shelter in their vehicles or building. Tents, pavilions, shade structures in the facility are not suitable for shelter.

When is the Houston Sports Park open?

Typically 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. daily, however the Park is available to rent outside these hours (additional cost will apply).

Is there food available on-site at the Houston Sports Park?

There is no food available on-site but HSP may bring out Food Trucks on certain dates.

Is there sideline seating at the fields at the Houston Sports Park?

There is no sideline seating at HSP. Spectators are welcome to bring their own seating into the Park however are not permitted to sit on the playing fields to ensure the fields are in the best playing condition.

What are the dimensions of the fields at the Houston Sports Park?

Currently all fields are 110 x 70.

Is smoking allowed on or near the playing fields at the Houston Sports Park?

Smoking is not allowed within the perimter fence of HSP.

How many fields are there at the Houston Sports Park?

7. There are five well manicured grass fields and one FieldTurf™ field available for public rental. The Methodist Championship Field is reserved for exclusive use by the Houston Dynamo and visiting professional teams.

How are the fields numbered at the Houston Sports Park?

Are there lights for evening events at HSP?

Yes, each field is equipped with Musco professional grade lights for evening play.

Are restrooms available on-site at the Houston Sports Park?

There are a minimum of (4) Port-o-lets onsite with (2) hand-wash stations.

Are food and beverages allowed inside the Houston Sports Park?

Non-alcoholic drinks, such as water, sports drinks and soda are permitted inside. Rentals are not permitted to bring caterers or sale concessions on site without written expressed permission from HSP prior to rental. All waste must be disposed of properly and alcohol is not allowed on property grounds.

Am I allowed to bring in my own tent, canopy, or banner?

Yes, standard 8x8 and 10x10 pop up tents can be brought inside the facility, however, these tents cannot be placed on any playing grass surface. Tents may be placed around the playing fields and must be weighed down or with small stakes (no more than 8'' in length).

Banners and banner placement must be approved by HSP prior to rental and cannot conflict with HSP sponsors or be offensive in nature.

May I smoke within the facility?

HSP is a non smoking facility. You may smoke outside in the parking lot or outside the perimeter fence.

What other items are prohibited?

Air horns, skateboards, bicycles, and scooters are all prohibited. Park staff reserves the right to refuse other items. For a complete list of prohibited items, please see http://www.houstonsportspark.com/about-hsp/park-rules--regulations/

Location, Directions and Parking

Where is the Houston Sports Park located?

12131 Kirby Drive, Houston, Texas, 77045
HSP is a new construction and therefore will not register on many GPS devices. Using the address 1990 Airport Boulevard, Houston, TX 77045 is the closest street address that can be programmed into a GPS device.

Which is the best way to get to the sports park?

The quickest ways to get to the park depend on which direction you are coming from. Specific directions from the North and South can be found under location under the About HSP tab.

Is there parking available at the Houston Sports Park?

Yes, we have 4 parking lots able to accommodate up to 450 cars. There is also ample free street parking as well.

Does it cost anything to park a vehicle at the Houston Sports Park?

No, but occasionally during special events there may be a fee to park at the Houston Sports Park. Notice of parking fees will be made on our Website, Twitter and Facebook pages with advanced notice.

When does the Park decide to charge cars for parking?

If the number of expected visitors exceeds the parking spaces that are available, the Park may charge cars to park. This is posted online at www.houstonsportspark.com 14 days prior to the date scheduled for charge.

What happens in the event that my car is damaged or I experience theft?

HSP is not responsible for auto accidents or theft within the Park or parking lot. While we attempt to reduce such occurances via on-site security, the best action for participants is to not bring any valuables to the facility or to remove them from your car and keep them on you at all times.

Future Development at HSP

When will there be permanent restrooms at HSP?

HSP plans to add on to the facilities in the near future and add permanent restrooms at that time. There is not a set date, but permanent restrooms are in the plans.
